Abstracts update (March 8, 2012)

The program committee is pleased to report that we have received numerous abstract submissions for this year’s symposium.  If you are planning on submitting your abstract but have not yet done so, please email it to abstracts@isawwsymposium.com as soon as possible.  The program committee will be soon starting the process of evaluating abstract submissions and will be in touch with authors shortly.

The abstract deadline has been extended to March 23 (it was March 7), in order to give some extra time for members of AWWA, WEF and NRWA chapters to send in their abstract submissions.  We are fortunate to have a strong relationship with the Florida section of the American Water Works Association and Florida Water Environment Association, as well was the National Rural Water Association. We look forward to continuing to work with our municipal water and wastewater sector partners.

We will also be reaching out to colleges and universities in the Florida area to encourage them to get involved with this year’s symposium. New this year, we are inviting students to present papers/posters as well as attend the symposium. A special discounted registration rate of $110 for students is now available. Our new higher education liaison Dr. Gerald Cockrell will be assisting the symposium committee with this outreach effort to the future young professionals in our industry.
